Three-Star DT D'Andre Martin Commits to Virginia Tech

Numbers are getting tight for Virginia Tech, but that isn't stopping the Hokies from landing some of their top remaining targets as three-star DT D'Andre Martin committed to Virginia Tech today.

Martin chose the Hokies over fellow finalist South Carolina along with offers from Florida State, Tennessee, Virginia, Duke, and others. Martin becomes the fourth defensive line commit of the class along 3* 757 DE Kyree Moyston, 3* 757 DT Lemar Law Jr, and 3* Richmond DL Rashaud Pernell.

This is an impressive recruiting win for the Hokies to land Martin who just visited South Carolina after visiting the Hokies last weekend and were still able to hold off the Gamecocks even with the "new car smell" boost that a new head coach can bring on the recruiting trail.

Martin's addition likely means Tech is done at defensive tackle for the cycle with Pernell and Law also on board though Tech has hosted 4* DT Santana Hopper and 3* DT Malachi Madison previously so they could look at taking a fourth. However, Tech's defensive line focus will likely shift to trying to land a second defensive end to pair with Moyston after seeing multiple young DEs transfer this offseason.

We will have more as this story develops.
