Virginia Tech's run of commitments since their final big recruiting weekend of June continued Sunday as the Hokies landed a commitment from three-star DE Sherrod Henderson out of Rocky Point, NC.
Henderson chose the Hokies over finalists Michigan State and Duke along with other offers from Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Virginia, USF, JMU, Liberty, and more. He is the third defensive line commit for the Hokies joining three-star DT Christian Evans out of Northern Virginia and three-star DE Zeke Chinwike from the 757.
This is a very good recruiting victory for the Hokies who seemed to be behind not too long ago especially in May when Henderson told us that Michigan State, Duke, Pitt, and USF were standing out for him. The fact that VT came from outside that group to catch up is an impressive job by the Hokies.
With Henderson on board, the focus likely shifts more heavily onto three-star DE Yvan Kemajou out of Maryland to round out this class for now. The Hokies likely will continue to push to flip South Carolina commit and four-star DL Caleb Williams out of Richmond as well especially with Williams taking an official visit in early June to Blacksburg.
