Pulliam is the Hokies' lone linebacker commit and Tech's ninth in-state commit this cycle including the second from rising in-state power Life Christian Academy joining three-star DL D'Andre Martin in this class. Pulliam chose the Hokies over Maryland and Duke who made his top 3 plus offers from Arizona State, Indiana, Houston, East Carolina, Liberty, and more.
Pulliam hasn't been a name that was talked about much, but he had been rising up Tech's linebacker board and had been a name that came into greater focus especially after LB Xavier Simmons flipped his commitment from the Hokies to Missouri.
CBs coach/defensive recruiting coordinator Ryan Smith continues to be arguably Tech's top recruiter and a rising star doing a tremendous job in Virginia especially in the Richmond area and the 757 with Tech putting an impressive haul from Virginia's loaded I-64 corridor.
With Pulliam on board, Tech will continue to heavily pursue underrated three-star LB Tyler Banks who is high on the overall defensive board for the Hokies. Additionally, it remains to be seen how involved the Hokies will be with three-star LB Austin Howell with Tech potentially not having room to bring him in especially after a large linebacker class last cycle.
