Virginia Tech gained a pair of commitments on Saturday with the second coming late Saturday evening from three-star OT Luke Braham out of Morgantown, WV.
The 6’5’’, 260-pound Braham chose the Hokies over offers from hometown West Virginia, Northwestern, Rutgers, Wake Forest, and more. Braham is ranked as the top recruit in West Virginia in the 2027 class by 247 Sports.
He was the second commit from Saturday during VT’s official visit weekend along with three-star TE Sam Faniel out of Richmond. He is the first commit from West Virginia this cycle and he is the second offensive line commit for VT along with three-star OL Kaden Buchanan.
With this commitment, Virginia Tech rose to tenth overall in 247 Sports’ class rankings while Rivals currently ranks their class 18th overall.
Braham was a recent offer, but clearly someone who quickly rose up VT’s board to the point where VT was more than happy to accept his commitment yesterday without having him wait for other visits to play out. It also is a nice recruiting victory for VT to land a recruit from right in rival West Virginia’s backyard in Morgantown.
With Braham on board, the offensive tackle focus remains largely in-state with four-star OT Q’Mari Hudson from the 757 currently being on campus and four-star OT Junior Saunders visiting next weekend. Four-star OL Dominic Black from Ohio and three-star OT Dylan Latell from Georgia (who is currently on campus) are other potential offensive tackle targets to monitor.
