Davidson was on campus for Virginia Tech's end of July Hokie Fest event with the visit proving quite fruitful for Tech. He chose the Hokies over other offers from Michigan State, Arkansas, Mississippi State, UCF, Georgia Tech, JMU, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, and others.
He is the third offensive line commit for the Hokies this class joining three-star OT Aidan Lynch from New Jersey and three-star interior OL Tommy Ricard from Ohio. He is also the first commit from the state of Georgia in Virginia Tech's 2024 class.
Davidson projects as an offensive tackle and already has good size for his current high school stage of development at 6'6'' and around 290 pounds. With any offensive line prospect, you can expect it'll take some time for his to develop into a contributor but he has the size and frame to be a quality collegiate offensive tackle.
This is another quality commitment for Ron Crook on the offensive line given his good size and frame plus the quality offer list he has. This also shows Crook has some recruiting versatility within VT's footprint given his largely Rust Belt background at places like Cincinnati and West Virginia.
We will have more as this story develops.
