Virginia Tech Men's Basketball got their 2023 recruiting class rolling today landing a major commitment from fast-rising three-star PG Brandon Rechsteiner.
Rechsteiner chose the Hokies out of an impressive offer list that also included Tennessee, Notre Dame, Memphis, LSU, Xavier, Miami, Clemson, Wichita State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Northwestern, Dayton, Davidson, George Mason, and more.
Rechsteiner was a breakout star this summer from many of the travel team tournaments happening all over the country leading to a massive offer surge.
Virginia Tech was among the first to offer him and quickly prioritized him even as numerous other major programs also got involved. Tech's coaches deserve tons of credit for being aggressive recruiting him once they offered even as many others aggressively got involved as well. They also beat out numerous power programs that are closer by like Tennessee, Memphis, Miami, Clemson, and more.
