Days after receiving a Virginia Tech offer, three-star QB Dylan Wittke out of Georgia was in Blacksburg for his first trip to VT which went quite well as he told us.
"It was amazing!! It was my first time in Blacksburg. The facilities were top notch, the fan base was electric, and the charisma of the new staff is elite," Wittke said.
His visit not only included seeing Tech's facilities and watching the Hokies in action in the Spring Game, but also spending time with numerous VT coaches including head coach Brent Pry, offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen, and QBs coach Brad Glenn.
His time with Brent Pry went quite well as Wittke told us.
"He was awesome. He’s a really down to earth and cool guy. His charisma and love for VT football shows that he’s the guy to lead them in the right direction!" Wittke said.
Wittke then had this to say about his time with Tyler Bowen.
"It was good. He seemed really excited that I was there and is ready to come watch me live during spring practice," Wittke said.
Wittke's time with his potential collegiate coach Brad Glenn also was quite good with Wittke hearing a lot about how good of a fit he can be for the Hokies.
"It was really good. We both think that with my abilities and skill set that I would fit in the offensive scheme very well!" Wittke said.
So how did this visit impact Dylan Wittke's recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?
"The visit was great and helped me put VT toward the top of my list," Wittke said.
He also added that Tech is one of the leaders in his recruitment alongside Memphis, Appalachian State, USF, and Miami (OH) adding this on why the Hokies are a leader for him.
"My play style fits in with the offensive scheme. It’s a great school where I can get a great degree and be developed into a better player and person," Wittke said.
Wittke's recruitment also may have lots of room to grow as he is actively receiving interest from Cincinnati, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Kansas, and others who haven't offered him yet. He also should get a bigger stage in the fall to shine after splitting time with Stanford signee Ashton Daniels for one of the best high school football programs in Georgia, Buford HS.
Virginia Tech has put themselves into a strong position in the recruitment of Dylan Wittke in just over a week with other Power 5 schools who want to get involve already being multiple steps behind Tech for now.
