Virginia Tech's final Junior Day of January was loaded with talented recruits including some who may soon be offered by Virginia Tech later on in this cycle, but Tech wants to make clear to them that they are definitely interested.
One of those was three-star WR Apollos Cook out of Lexington, SC who has four early offers from West Virginia, Marshall, Charlotte, and Georgia State who offered Cook last spring while current VT QBs coach Brad Glenn was the GSU offensive coordinator.
Cook's visit to Blacksburg went well as a whole as he shared with us.
"I thought it was great. The campus and facilities were amazing and the coaches really sound like they want to build a good family culture," Cook said.
Cook gave us a quick rundown on what he did during his visit to Blacksburg.
"We ate, toured the facilities, took pictures, toured campus, talked about education with the counselors and had position meetings," Cook said.
One thing that stuck out to Cook as well as other talented recruits like 2024 OT Fletcher Westphal was that the Hokies' coaching staff is clearly trying to build a strong family culture in Blacksburg though that wasn't the only thing that stood out for Cook.
"How hard the coaches were pushing for a family feel and the campus," Cook said.
Cook got to spend some time with Hokies WRs coach Fontel Mines alongside some of the other receivers who were visiting as Cook shared with us.
"It was good. He talked to the group about what football can do for you in life and what its done for him," Cook said on his time with Fontel Mines.
Overall, Cook had this to say about his view of Virginia Tech after his Junior Day visit.
"I think that VT is a amazing school with even better people," Cook said.
Keep an eye on Apollos Cook as though he wasn't offered over the weekend, it's clear that the Hokies are interested and that an offer may not be too far away.
