The transfer portal has opened many doors for athletes nationwide to gain more exposure and opportunities at new schools. This is precisely what junior guard Lani White did when choosing to play for Virginia Tech, deciding to change coasts, leaving Utah to play for the Hokies in 2024.
“When I entered the portal, I was really looking for an opportunity for myself,” Virginia Tech guard Lani White said, “I came from a winning program, but I don’t think I was given the best shot for myself, so entering (the transfer portal) was a personal choice to succeed for myself.”
