Virginia Tech faced a lot of roster churn this offseason, with 10 new players coming into the program via the transfer portal and high school recruiting.
That’s a lot of change in one offseason, but early indicators are this group is gelling together well and showing some growth.
“It's a great working group; the transfers that we brought in come from good programs,” said Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young. “When you are trying to blend in all these new pieces with the returners, the summer really helps.”
One of the most significant additions to Tech’s roster is Toibu “Tobi” Lawal, a high-flying junior transfer from VCU, who will add considerable size and length to the Hokies roster, with only five players listed at 6’8” and above.
