The Virginia Tech Hokies are still looking to add a couple more transfers, with UTSA standout EDGE Jimmori Robinson including the Hokies in his final two along with West Virginia ahead of his decision tomorrow.

Robinson spent two seasons at JUCO followed by four seasons at UTSA. He has gained an additional year of eligibility thanks to the temporary rule for 2025 instituted by the NCAA in light of the Diego Pavia preliminary injunction ruling, with the NCAA’s rule allowing any player who played in JUCO in the past and whose eligibility runs out during the 2024-25 academic year to gain an extra year for the 2025-26 academic year.
During his time at UTSA, Robinson developed into one of the best G5 edge rushers in the country, having 43 tackles including 17 for loss with 10.5 sacks plus two forced fumbles and two pass breakups on his way to earning 2024 AAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Robinson’s PFF grades are also strong as he earned a 78.0 season grade including an 86.2 pass rush grade plus 44 pressures and 30 stops.
Robinson would be an instant starter at defensive end and would likely be among the top edge rushers in the ACC given how dominated the AAC this past season. While he still may not be as good as Antwaun Powell-Ryland, he would give the Hokies a high level pass rusher who could anchor the defensive line in 2025 and earn All-ACC honors of some sort.
One thing to note is that he is a Northern Virginia native which could help the Hokies a lot in their pursuit of him. Then again, it doesn’t help as much that the other school involved is one also fairly close to his hometown in West Virginia.
