Four-star QB Demond Williams Jr of Chandler, Arizona has emerged as one of the top QB recruits in the 2024 recruits with double-digit Power 5 offers that include schools from every P5 conference.

Though Williams doesn't have a top group or anything like that, there are a few schools emerging early on.

Williams mentioned Virginia Tech when asked which schools are currently standing out for him along with Ole Miss, Arkansas, UCLA, California, and Arizona. He did add that he's looking forward to seeing which schools he hears from on September 1st when schools can more directly initiate contact with 2024 recruits.

So why are the Hokies currently standing out for him?

"I love the coaching staff and it’s a great family vibe. Hopefully I can get a chance to get out there," Williams said.

Offensive analyst Brian Crist has been the primary point of contact for Williams with the two having "great" conversations that he has "enjoyed for sure."

All of this comes as he's built up an impressive offer that; in addition to the 6 currently standing out for him, also includes Oregon, Utah, Michigan State, Washington, TCU, Louisville, Arizona State, Iowa State, West Virginia, Colorado, Boston College, Kansas, and more.

The national interest shouldn't be a surprise after an impressive sophomore season for Basha HS where he threw for 2,632 yards and 20 touchdowns with a 71.2% completion rate while running for 644 yards and 14 touchdowns.

So how would Williams describes the skills that he brings to the table that have enabled his success?

"I’d say that my skill set involves the ability to escape, make all the throws in the pocket, and be able to make all the throws on the run as well as being fast enough to out-run DBs," Williams said.

Williams also has 3 big goals for his junior season: win a state championship, throw for 3,000 yards, and run for 1,000 yards.

Virginia Tech is off to a strong, early start for one of the Premier quarterbacks in the 2024 class, four-star Arizonan Demond Williams Jr.
