Virginia Tech hosted loads of talented recruits for their lone home game in October last weekend including 2024 three-star WR Peter Gonzalez out of the Pittsburgh area. During his visit, the Hokies made a strong impression on the talented WR from PA.

"It was awesome, beautiful day and crazy atmosphere, me and my family loved it," Gonzalez said.

He had this to say about why it was an "awesome" visit for him.

"The atmosphere was electric and the staff showed a ton of love even when preparing for the game," Gonzalez said.

His visit was quite busy from time with Brent Pry and Fontel Mines to experiencing Lane Stadium including Enter Sandman which Gonzalez called the "best pregame experience." He also had this to say about Enter Sandman.

"Enter Sandman was very unique and definitely lived up to the hype," Gonzalez said.

He said that his time with Brent Pry was "good" while adding this on how his time and conversations with WRs coach Fontel Mines went.

"It was great. He came over while I was walking at midfield to say what’s up so it meant a lot that he took time out of his pregame to show love," Gonzalez said.

He also spent time with recruiting assistant Rob Branch which he said was "good" as well.

So how did this visit impact his recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?

"They're definitely at the top of my list right now," Gonzalez said.

So why are the Hokies at the top of his list?

"I love the campus and the staff has been awesome throughout this whole process," Gonzalez said.

Virginia Tech made a big move for Gonzalez last weekend becoming the early frontrunner for the standout WR from Pittsburgh, PA.
