One encouraging sign is the fact that offensive line starters Layth Ghannam and Johnny Garrett are both no longer listed after playing last week while top backup Jaden Muskrat is probable to make his season debut. Having that extra depth available would be another boost to an offensive line that has struggled mightily this season.
Brody Meadows remains out as expected.
The wide receiver situation is also encouraging as starter Donavon Greene is probable after suffering an injury last week against NC State. Meanwhile, Keylen Adams is trending towards making his 2025 debut soon as he is questionable for this week and will likely have a regular role in the WR rotation once he returns. True freshman Shamarius Peterkin is also questionable with the odds of him burning a redshirt starting to grow while Chanz Wiggins remains out.
Backup TE Harrison Saint Germain is still out, with Ja’Ricous Hairston taking his spot.
Defensively, both Caleb Woodson and Quentin Reddish remain out for reasons that do not appear to be related to injury. The reason for S Sherrod Covil’s absence since Brent Pry’s dismissal is also unknown but he is questionable this week.
After shining last week with three pass breakups including the game clincher, Christian Ellis is questionable this week. The questionable status of Ellis and Covil could lead to more true freshman Sheldon Robinson this week.
Meanwhile, early season starting CB Caleb Brown remains out due to injury as Isaiah Brown-Murray and Thomas Williams remain the starters likely for the rest of the season unless Jojo Crim makes a big move.
Brett Clatterbaugh is out after playing a few snaps last week, though it’s fair to wonder if that’s possibly more about preserving his redshirt or if it is injury-related.
