On Saturday, it was discovered that Virginia Tech Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach Ryan Fecteau and Director of Player Development Kyle Sarazin are both no longer on the HokieSports baseball website. It appears that the two coaches have parted ways with the program following a 31-25 (12-18) season. VT has since put out the following statement that both Fecteau and Sarazin are no longer with the program.

“The Virginia Tech baseball program has parted ways with Ryan Fecteau (associate head coach, pitching) and Kyle Sarazin (director of player development).”

TechSideline's Dylan Tefft broke the news first.

Ryan Fecteau is a coach that had been under a lot of heat from the fan base during his tenure at Virginia Tech. In 2025, Virginia Tech has amassed an ACC 11th best ERA of 5.23. The team was second in the ACC in strikeouts and had shown progress compared to the previous two years, but this was still an average pitching staff at best despite the talented arms in the room.

Sarazin, unlike Fecteau, has been with the program for all but one year of Szefc’s tenure, taking on various roles during his time at VT. While there have been obvious issues in the last three seasons, I haven't seen Sarazin's name mentioned. I can't say I know exactly why he was not renewed.

These departures from the coaching staff leave the Hokies looking for replacements for three positions:

Associate Head Coach
Pitching Coach
Director of Player Development

I assume that the pitching coach and associate head coach would be the same person, but you never know.

No names have been trending as of now for any of the three open positions. We will be monitoring the situation closely.
