Virginia Tech appears to largely be taking a business mentality this week with the Hokies not pulling out any sort of flashy uniform as rival Virginia has. Instead, Tech is going with a classic look for a historic rivalry with the most at stake since 2011.

The Hokies will go with their classic road combination of maroon helmets, white jerseys, and maroon pants. This is the first time that Tech has worn this uniform combination since wearing it on the road Notre Dame earlier this month.
While the Hokies do have some great unique uniforms that they can use, the use of their classic looks not only is very on brand but also projects the focused, business mentality while embracing that what the Hokies are looking to achieve is simply upholding the standards of Tech football.
There is also something to be said about embracing a traditional look for a rivalry that has lots of tradition like the Commonwealth Cup has. Even if Virginia may not be going with a classic look, the Hokies are going with a look that is reminiscent of the 15-straight victories Virginia Tech has over the Hoos.
