Among the notable recruits on campus this past weekend for the Hokies was talented 2024 TE Cameron Clark out of Medina, TN. This was his first visit to Blacksburg and it went quite well as he told us.
"It was great. I had an amazing time meeting and getting to know all the coaches!" Clark said.
So what made it a great visit for him?
"The atmosphere! The campus was beautiful and the fan base was amazing," Clark said.
He also shared what he did during his first visit to Blacksburg.
"I toured the campus and facilities. I was able to sit down and meet the coaches, and then we watched the basketball game vs Syracuse," Clark said.
Clark got to spend the most time with offensive coordinator/TEs coach Tyler Bowen and offensive analyst Jeff Carpenter. He had this to say about his time and conversations with Bowen.
"It was great. I learned a lot about the game in such little time on my visit," Clark said.

Clark also had plenty of praise for Hokie Nation when asked about what was unique on this visit.
"The fan base for sure! Something like I’ve never experienced before," Clark said.
So how did this visit impact his recruitment and where Virginia Tech stands in it?
"This visit showed me VT would be a great place where I can grow on and off the field. VT is definitely a top choice for me!" Clark said.
Clark had this to say about why the Hokies are "definitely a top choice" for him following his visit.
"It’s a great family place and they utilize their TEs really well," Clark said.
Virginia Tech made a strong impression on Cameron Clark on his first visit to Blacksburg, putting themselves in a great position for one of their top TE targets.
