Virginia Tech LB Caleb Woodson is Leading By Example and Improving His Game This Offseason

After starting his career at the STAR linebacker spot, Caleb Woodson made a move to inside linebacker soon after the 2023 season. The move surprised many given the promise that Woodson had shown at that position and how he had been recruited for that spot.

However, Woodson's physical development pointed to a move inside with the Northern Virginia native adapting quickly and taking over a starting linebacker spot for the 2024 season. While his season wasn't perfect, he showed plenty of promise during it and finished the year with 72 tackles including eight for loss with two sacks plus an interception.

Now that Woodson has a year of starting at inside linebacker under his belt, he also has experiences he can lean on to know what to do and what not to do, along with plenty of tape to evaluate with coaches to further his game.

He's clearly taken advantage of that so far with defensive tackle Kemari Copeland noting how Woodson had taken the lunch pail from him during the first few days of fall camp after one standout practice in particular.

"C-Wood took it yesterday. He had like an interception and two turnovers," Copeland said.

This wasn't a fluke for Woodson though. Rather, the junior linebacker is having a strong offseason and truly building on his first season as a starter as Brent Pry shared.
