Cornell grad transfer/All-American right tackle Hunter Nourzad has received all offers from all over the country, but is down to his top 5 which Virginia Tech made the cut for.
I greatly appreciate all the coaches, staff, and fans who have recruited me so far! These are the schools I'll be focusing on from here on out. pic.twitter.com/PAy2XpwVaq

The Hokies were joined by Penn State, Auburn, Iowa, and Illinois in the top 5 for Nourzad. This comes as Nourzad eliminated numerous offers from Michigan State, Miami, Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern, Louisville, Syracuse, Kansas, Temple, and Tulane.
Nourzad comes with a tremendous pedigree as he started for Cornell at right tackle the past two seasons (2019 and 2021) earning Second Team All-Ivy League honors in 2019 followed by Second Team All-American and First Team All-Ivy League honors
Nourzad also has some strong national acclaim that includes him being currently ranked #9 in The Athletic's ranking of the best currently available players in the transfer portal. 247 Sports also has Nourzad ranked as a mid three-star recruit though his offer list shows that many schools believe that he is underrated.
With new offensive line coach Joe Rudolph officially in place, Virginia Tech's push for Nourzad is certain to increase even more with the Cornell standout being a great fit at tackle complimenting Parker Clements for 2022 with Luke Tenuta headed to the NFL Draft.
Nourzad would also buy Tech time to develop some of their other young offensive tackles in the short term while giving Nourzad a chance to shine on the highest stage in CFB before heading off to the NFL. Being coached by one of the best in the business in Rudolph for a year is also certain to be an advantage for the Hokies in this transfer recruitment.
We will have more as this story develops.
