News broke yesterday evening that Virginia Tech OL Bob Schick is entering the transfer portal.
Schick started at guard for the Hokies during the 2023 and most of the 2024 seasons. However, Schick lost his starting job this spring to a combination of Layth Ghannam, Montavious Cunningham, and Brody Meadows. Tech is also looking at adding further offensive line help during the spring portal window with Penn State G J.B. Nelson among the targets.
Instead of being a depth piece this fall, Schick has chosen to enter the transfer portal and head elsewhere for his final year of eligibility. He brings the versatility to play either tackle or guard, though it would be surprising if he was at tackle instead of guard at his next stop.
