James Franklin and Virginia Tech are busy working the transfer portal with the Hokies reportedly set to host a pair of SEC transfers on visits.

Missouri starting QB Beau Pribula is set to visit Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech with Stanford also being in the mix according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz. Meanwhile, Texas A&M EDGE Solomon Williams is also scheduling visits to Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt according to CBS Sports' Josh Edwards, with VT Scoop's Kolby Crawford having the specific dates for Williams' visit to Blacksburg.

In his lone season as Missouri's starting QB after arriving from Penn State, Pribula threw for 1,941 yards, 11 touchdowns, nine interceptions, and a 67.4% completion rate while running for 434 yards, six touchdowns, and 5.9 yards per carry on 74 non-sack carries. Pribula earned a 76.2 PFF grade including a 73.2 passing grade during a season where he missed some time due to injury. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Since Pribula announced his plans to enter the transfer portal, there's been tons of speculation about a potential reunion for Franklin and Pribula in Blacksburg, which made Pribula one of my transfer portal reunion candidates to watch. It wouldn't be unprecedented either for Franklin to land a player who previously transferred away from his program after King Mack returned to Penn State last offseason following a single year at Alabama.

The turnovers and some of his SEC play struggles are a concern with Pribula, but he also proved himself to be an effective dual-threat quarterback and his completion rate is quite good as well.

He's someone who likely could help Franklin and Ty Howle implement the new offense while having great familiarity working with QBs coach Danny O'Brien. Having that familiarity plus a season full of experience to learn from would likely benefit Pribula greatly. He's also a player who Franklin seems to have lots of respect for and could help him implement his culture in Blacksburg.

Meanwhile, Williams showed promise as a redshirt freshman backup edge rusher for Texas A&M with seven tackles including three for loss, playing 35 total defensive snaps in four games. Most of his playing time came on special teams this past season and two of his tackles for loss came against Samford.

He's a former four-star recruit who has been coached by new VT DL coach Sean Spencer the past two seasons and would be an intriguing young talent to add to VT's defensive end who certainly could break his way into the DE rotation at minimum next season, should he choose the Hokies.
