Virginia Tech is set to open its 2027 campaign at home against The Citadel. The game is scheduled for August 28th.
It will be just the third-ever meeting between the two schools. The Hokies are 2-0 in the series, after defeating the Bulldogs in 1953 in Roanoke 22-0, and 14-7 in Charleston, South Carolina the year prior.
In addition to taking on the Bulldogs in 2027, the Hokies will face out-of-conference foes Liberty at home on September 4th and Notre Dame on the road on November 6th.
The matchup pits two of the nation's six senior military colleges against one another. It will be the Hokies' second such pairing in as many seasons; they begin James Franklin's tenure this fall against the Virginia Military Institute Keydets on September 5th.
