Smith has proven to be an extremely versatile offensive lineman and quality leader for the Hokies with Smith having the ability to play all over the line especially at tackle and guard. Smith is likely to be a backup again next season who can come in almost anywhere while also providing valuable leadership as a returning 2019 captain.
Tyrell Smith won't be the only Hokie on the 2020 team who has seen his career extend beyond the traditional maximum of five years as grad transfer DE Justus Reed will be entering his seventh season.
We will have more as this story develops.
