Virginia Tech guard Sophie Swanson became the latest Hokie to declare her intentions to enter the transfer portal on Friday.
Swanson previously transferred from Purdue to Tech. In her two years at Purdue, she played 55 games with eight starts. In her sophomore season she averaged 8.9 points while shooting 36% from the field and 30% from three.
While a Hokie, she got a late start dealing with an injury that kept her sidelined early in the season. After that she wasn’t ever able to break into the rotation. In her time at Blacksburg, she played in 21 games, averaging just over two points. As primarily a three-point shooter, she shot just 18.9% from deep, going 7-for-37.
She now joins Kayl Peterson in entering the portal next week, and will have one more year of eligibility left.
