Virginia Tech has its first football commit for the class of 2020. Atlee High School quarterback Tyler Warren committed to the Hokies on Friday, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s Eric Kolenich. He had offers from ACC schools Syracuse and Virginia before committing to Tech. Warren also attended a camp at UNC this summer but did not have an offer from the Tar Heels at the time of his commitment. Warren was recruited by offensive coordinator Brad Cornelsen and running backs coach Zohn Burden. He made his decision without making an official visit to Tech. The Hokies currently have four quarterbacks on their team, but do not have any quarterback commits from the class of 2019 and Warren is the first from the class of 2020. Head coach Justin Fuente celebrated the news of Warren’s commitment on Twitter, saying, “Let’s get the 2020 party started!!"
