Despite Liz Kitley being out for the season due to a torn ACL and Georgia Amoore only playing 19 minutes due to foul trouble, Virginia Tech put on a show on their way to a 92-49 rout of Marshall, which included a 48-9 run that spanned late in the second quarter through early in the fourth quarter. This was an impressive performance for a Virginia Tech team that had many doubting what they could be without Liz Kitley given their struggles without her to close the season.
So with all that in mind, here are my takeaways from the Hokies' first round victory over Marshall.
