Virginia Tech Women's Basketball officially got on the board in the Class of 2027 in a big way as they gained a commitment from four-star F/G Lillie Graves.
The 6-foot-1 prospect from McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana, chose Virginia Tech over Auburn, Florida, Florida State, and a slew of other offers. Graves unofficially visited Blacksburg in March before announcing her commitment.
She is ranked as the 45th best recruit in America by Rivals, 49th overall by 247 Sports, and 55th best by ESPN. Her rankings undoubtedly make her one of the highest-rated women's basketball recruits that has chosen Virginia Tech this decade
In her time in high school, Graves put up 1,565 career points, averaging 19 pointers per game. As a junior, she averaged a stat line of 17.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals, helping McCutcheon get to back-to-back state semifinals in her last two years.
Graves adds to Megan Duffy’s impressive high school recruiting since her arrival in Blacksburg. She is the latest top 100 overall recruit to commit to the Hokies during Duffy's tenure, a group that also includes the likes of G Kaleo Anderson in the 2026 class, G Kate Sears and F Amani Jenkins in the 2025 class, and F Kayl Petersen in the 2024 class.
Virginia Tech is now set at a projected 11 used scholarships at the beginning of the 2027-2028 season, with four more scholarship spots to allocate.
