Serven spent the last season as a rotational big man at Eastern Michigan averaging 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.9 minutes per game after spending the first three seasons of his career at Illinois. Serven has two years of eligibility remaining according to the Hokies' press release.
Head coach Mike Young had this to say about Serven's addition per Tech's press release.
"We are excited about adding Connor to our program as he brings experience, wisdom and a versatile game. He is a hard-playing dude who has a high level of skill and smarts – our type of guy. We are eager to get Connor here and continue to develop him," Young said.
Serven appears to be a depth addition who I don't expect to take on a significant role in Tech's rotation whatsoever. He does add some more depth to the frontcourt while also boosting the quality of practice competition that guys like Mylyjael Poteat, Tobi Lawal, Ryan Jones, and others can face off against.
