Basketball recruiting insider Sam Kayser has reported that five-star forward Baba Oladotun is set to take an official visit to Virginia Tech next weekend for what is VT Football's home opener against Vanderbilt.
2026 5 Baba Oladotun has the following visits scheduled in the coming weeks, sources told @LeagueRDY:

The Silver Spring, Maryland native has 50+ offers including Virginia Tech, Maryland, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and many more. Maryland and Virginia Tech are currently the only two visits he has scheduled per Kayser.
He recently reclassified from the 2027 to the 2026 class. During the 2024-25 season, Oladotun averaged 22.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
Experts describe him as a long, fluid wing with advanced perimeter scoring and shot-making ability. He is also very disruptive on defense and has a lot of room to fill out his frame. He was battling for the top spot in the 2027 class and is a consensus top 10 recruit now as a member of the 2026 class.
His father, Ibraheem Oladotun, played college basketball at Virginia Tech with that family connection certainly creating an opportunity for the Hokies to be a serious player.
If Oladotun were to end up at Virginia Tech, he would undoubtedly be the highest-rated high school recruit that the Hokies have ever regarded.
This will be a tough battle given how the Hokies are not known for having great NIL, even if they've at least reached an adequate point. However, Mike Young and his staff showed that they can beat out schools with much-larger budgets for high-profile players like Neoklis Avdalas, and having a family connection should certainly help.
