Four-Star OT Mekhi Becton Releases His Top 5

Four-star OT Mekhi Becton is the Hokies' top and only offensive line target not on the board already for Virginia Tech with Becton being targeted by his fair share of major programs across the country. Becton's recruitment has been fairly wide open for most of the process but with National Signing Day less than 6 weeks away, Becton's recruitment is starting to gain more clarity with Becton making some news on Christmas Day. https://twitter.com/MekhiBecton_/status/813071368224997378 Mekhi Becton tweeted out his top 5 today which included Virginia Tech, Michigan, Louisville, Michigan State, and Virginia. The pair of Michigan schools and the pair of in-state schools are not surprises to make the cut for Becton while Louisville is the only school that hadn't been talked about much with Becton to make the cut. Becton is ranked as the 189th best recruit in the nation by Rivals with both Rivals and ESPN having him as a four-star while 247 Sports and the 247 Sports Composite have him as a high three-star. Becton is also ranked as the 22nd best OT by Rivals, 34th best by ESPN, 41st best by the 247 Sports Composite, and 49th best by 247 Sports. Becton also is ranked 16th in Virginia by both 247 Sports and the 247 Sports Composite while ESPN has him 12th and Rivals has him seventh. If there is a frontrunner, it's may be Michigan as they hosted Becton on an official visit back in November, but the Wolverines also have four OT commits, and you have to wonder if there is still room in Michigan's class for Becton. Michigan State, Virginia Tech, and Louisville all have room in their class while Becton is the number 1 in-state priority for Virginia along with being the only big name Commonwealth recruit that they are still in the hunt for.
