The 6'2'' shooting guard from Orlando, FL is the #31 recruit in the 2024 class according to ESPN. As of now, that makes Blue the highest ranked commit in program history to our knowledge. This includes her being ranked higher than Liz Kitley who was ranked #33 in the 2019 class.
Blue chose the Hokies over numerous other offers including Tennessee, Ohio State, Louisville, Arizona, Kentucky, Michigan, Texas A&M, and more. She is the second commit in the 2024 class for the Hokies joining 6'3'' forward Myah Hazelton.
This is a massive commitment for Kenny Brooks and his staff as the Hokies continue to build on their status as a powerhouse program after reaching their first Final Four program this past season.
Blue has a clear path to playing early on the wing with Cayla King in her final season leaving a spot in the rotation for Blue in 2024-25 with Carleigh Wenzel likely to slide into the starting lineup then. Additionally, it's very plausible that Blue could be a starter by her sophomore season with Matilda Ekh only having two seasons of eligibility remaining.
