Virginia Tech was among many interested in Avdalas, who also is viewed as a second round draft prospect for this year’s NBA Draft and had taken part in the NBA Draft Combine. He still has not withdrawn his name, but the TLP has been hearing that VT is confident he will make it to campus and withdraw from the draft.
The 6'8 wing spent the 2024-2025 season with the greek team Peristeri, where he averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. He did this while shooting 35.7% from beyond the arc in his 26 games.
Avdalas will certainly start for the Hokies should he make it to campus, and he is a guy that will have all conference upside. This leaves one spot in the lineup on the wing with Jaden Schutt, Tyler Johnson, and UNLV transfer Jailen Bedford battling for it.
The Hokies now have 13 players for the 2025-2026 roster, with VT potentially looking adding at one more depth piece albeit for a cheap price with most of their available NIL used up.
We will have more as this story develops.
