Virginia Tech picked up their second transfer of the offseason via a commitment from Hampton DL Jahzari Priester.
He joins Clemson S Sherrod Covil Jr, Bowling Green RB Terion Stewart, and Central Missouri RB Marcellous Hawkins in Virginia Tech’s transfer class. He has three years of eligibility remaining as well.
Priester is an interesting prospect who likely won’t make an immediate impact, but showed promise at Hampton with 16 tackles including 2.5 for loss with two sacks plus seven stops and one fumble recovery in only 163 defensive snaps this season. He has fascinating upside given his tremendous size at 6’8’’ and 250 pounds.
With Tech having up to 105 scholarships to work with rather than 85 due to the House settlement, the Hokies can take some risks on low-floor, high-ceiling prospects like Priester.
We will have more as this story develops.
