Virginia Tech added more help to the wide receiver room, picking up a commitment from Louisiana Tech transfer Marlion Jackson.

The Flowery Branch, GA, native is the third WR to join the Hokies from the transfer portal, following Penn State’s Jeff Exinor Jr. and Duke’s Que’Sean Brown. Jackson joins Brown as transfer WRs coming to Tech with multiple years of experience at the FBS level. North Texas and UAB were among the other schools pursuing Jackson as we at the TLP previously reported.

Marlion Jackson hauled in 20 catches for 370 yards with two touchdowns for the Bulldogs in 2025. He also carried the ball three times for 19 yards. In his three-year career, Jackson has totaled 753 receiving yards on 46 catches and three touchdowns. On the ground he’s been handed the ball 10 times for 33 rushing yards.

Listed at 6’2” and 205 lbs, Jackson brings size, length, and strength to the receiver room, an area that Virginia Tech has lacked in recent years. Jackson provides some more experienced depth for Tech’s outside WRs behind the likes of Ayden Greene, Keylen Adams, and Isaiah Spencer while being able to provide some competition as well.

Jackson is a redshirt junior who will have one year of eligibility left.
