James Franklin continues to prioritize the offensive line this offseason and brings in an Ohio State transfer OT in Justin Terry.

He is the fourth offensive lineman and third tackle to join Virginia Tech in the portal, joining Penn State OL Michael Troutman III, Oklahoma OT Logan Howland, and Michigan State OT Justin Bell.

Terry is also the second transfer from Ohio State, following his teammate DL Eric Mensah.

The 6’5”, 324-pound OT was a member of the class of 2024 and was a three-star prospect out of Pickerington, OH, where he committed to West Virginia out of high school after being recruited by then OL coach Matt Moore, who currently is the OL coach at Virginia Tech.

That made Tech interested in his services last offseason as he entered the transfer portal, but Justin Terry chose Ohio State. Now after looking for a new home again, Matt Moore was almost certainly a key piece in getting Terry’s commitment and reuniting at Virginia Tech.

During his time at Ohio State, Justin Terry played in six games at right tackle with a limited snap count.

Justin Terry will be a redshirt sophomore and have three years of eligibility.
