Virginia Tech picked up a major offensive line addition from the transfer portal in Oklahoma OT Logan Howland.
The redshirt sophomore played in 18 games over the past two seasons for the Sooners. In 2024 he appeared in 13 games, making six starts at left tackle. This past year, Howland only appeared in five games, starting in three, due to a season-ending injury.
Last season, the Hokies' offensive line was a sore spot. The 6'6", 322-pound offensive tackle gives coach Matt More's unit some sorely needed size as well as experience starting in the SEC. Howland's resume makes him a strong candidate to start in 2026.
He's the Hokies' 11th transfer commitment in the 2026 cycle. He joins Michigan State transfer Justin Bell as the team's two offensive line transfers so far. The Princeton, NJ, native will have two years of eligibility remaining.
