The 6'4, 220-pound Marion, Massachusetts native was the highest-ranked uncommitted quarterback in the class of 2027. A consensus 4-star recruit, Bourque was ranked inside the top-150 nationally by 247Sports and Rivals (80th and 107th, respectively). ESPN slotted him as No. 126 in the country and the eighth-best quarterback in the class.
Bourque was named the 2025 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year after completing 63.3% of his passes for 2,241 yards and 18 TD while also carrying the ball 80 times for 688 yards and 15 TD, according to 247Sports. As a junior, he led Tabor Academy to a 9-0 record and a NEPSAC John Papas Bowl title.
Earlier this spring, Bourque played in the Navy All-American game and also attended the New York Elite 11.
Bourque visited Virginia Tech during its spring game weekend and chose the Hokies over his other finalist, Georgia. He also had offers from Michigan, where he was originally committed, Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, Miami, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Penn State, among others.
Per the 247 Sports Composite ratings, Bourque is the highest-rated commit for the Hokies since four-star DB Devon Hunter in the 2017 class. He is also the highest-rated QB commit for the Hokies since Logan Thomas in the 2009 class.
