Virginia Tech's recruiting surge continued on Friday as the Hokies landed a commitment from three-star DB Elijah Butler out of Baltimore powerhouse St Frances. He chose the Hokies over fellow finalists Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Maryland. It was the second defensive back commitment for the Hokies in less than 24 hours after VT gained a commitment from four-star CB Chase Johnson late Thursday night.
So why did the 6'3'' Butler choose Virginia Tech? He had this to say about that.
“I chose Virginia Tech because of their culture and development ability,” Butler said
He added this on what specifically about VT’s culture led him to choosing the Hokies.
