Three-star LB Bodie Kahoun out of Roanoke's Patrick Henry HS has been one of Virginia Tech's top LB targets for months with the Hokies having tons of traction in his recruitment. Now, Kahoun has his June official visit schedule set with a trip to Blacksburg on the schedule at the end of it.
Here's a look at the four official visits that Kahoun has scheduled for June in chronological order.
- North Carolina: June 2nd-4th
- Notre Dame: June 9th-11th
- Tennessee: June 16th-18th
- Virginia Tech: June 23rd-25th
Kahoun said that those four schools are among the programs recruiting him the hardest along with a few others. Leading the charge for the Hokies has been DC/LBs coach Chris Marve and sam LBs/nickels coach Shawn Quinn.
Kahoun said that his relationships with Marve and Quinn are both good adding specifically on Marve that "he's a genuine guy". He also said that "all the coaches have been great throughout this" in regards to Tech's staff.
So where do the Hokies stand in his recruitment and why as these June official visits loom?
"One of my top opportunities for sure," Kahoun said. "It's a good academic opportunity and football atmosphere, and an opportunity to make an impact."
If he did choose the Hokies, Kahoun told us that he would be working at will linebacker adding this on why he feels he would fit well in VT's defense.
"Coaches like my size and speed combination, being long, and my athletic ability to react quickly. I can blitz, come off the edge, cover TEs, and I love to hit! Definitely want to play fast," Kahoun said.
Looking ahead, Kahoun told us that he is looking to make his decision by "mid-summer" before his fall camp starts for his senior season of high school football. He had this to say about what the key factors will be in making his decision.
"Best combo of academic experience and ability to impact the roster," Kahoun said.
