Virginia Tech has landed their third flip of Early Signing Day as three-star OL Hunter Mclain has flipped his commitment from Richmond to the Hokies.

In addition to Virginia Tech, Mclain received offers during this cycle from Kentucky, Iowa State, Marshall, Ball State, UMASS, Richmond, and William & Mary. He becomes the seventh offensive lineman including the second from Lord Botetourt HS along with four-star Gunner Givens. Two of those seven OL are going to start out on the defensive line in Givens and Braelin Moore though both seem likely to be OL long term.
Mclain is another example of how Brent Pry is living up to his word about prioritizing Virginia Tech's "footprint" especially in the Commonwealth of Virginia with all four of the new commits since Pry's arrival being from in-state recruits. This also gives Tech 12 in-state commits at the moment which is clearly the most commits from Virginia in one recruiting class since the 2014 class.
We will have more as this story develops.
