Virginia Tech has put together an impressive recruiting class so far that is ranked 7th nationally by 247 Sports as of the middle of the afternoon on January 7th. The Hokies are on track for what will be one of their highest-ranked recruiting classes in program history, one that is on track to finish in the top 20 and definitely could be a top 15 class when all is finished.
A big reason for that is the impressive tight end class that VT has put together headlined by consensus four-star TE Jordan Karhoff who is ranked among the top 12 tight ends in the 2027 class by all three major recruiting services.
That's just the tip of the iceberg as three-star TE Sam Faniel has a four-star rating from Rivals and is ranked in the top 25 by all three major recruiting services while Braxton Salster has higher three-star grades with Rivals and ESPN both ranking him among the top 31 tight ends in the 2027 class while 247 Sports ranks him as the 32nd best athlete.
That impressive trio of tight ends does raise a question as to whether this is the best tight end class that Virginia Tech has had in the 21st Century and possibly in program history?
