Mike Young and Co. will be making the trip to Chapel Hill as Virginia Tech at North Carolina has been rescheduled for Monday, January 24th at 8:00 p.m with the game being broadcast on ACC Network.
#Hokies at North Carolina for two weeks from today on the 24th. Big opportunity for a Q1 win for Tech that could be crucial for their resume https://t.co/58H6jGlJhL

In what was going to be the last games for each program in 2021, the Dec. 29th date was scratched due to Virginia Tech dealing with COVID-19 issues.
This rescheduled matchup will now give the Hokies three games in five days starting with a road game at Boston College on Jan. 22nd. A home date against Miami on Jan. 26th will conclude the chaotic period of the schedule.
The Tar Heels are in the same boat as the Hokies with three games in five days starting with an in-state road game at Wake Forest on Jan. 22nd and concluding with a home matchup against Boston College on Jan. 26th.
For the Hokies’ sake, this game being rescheduled is a huge plus to their NCAA Tournament hopes. The Tar Heels have had a successful start to conference play with a 3-1 record including two wins on the road against Georgia Tech and Boston College. UNC also has the second best NET in the conference making this a Quad 1 victory opportunity while certainly boosting Tech's strength of schedule regardless of the result, one of the stronger parts of their current resume
In addition to the original North Carolina game being postponed, the Hokies had their Jan. 1 matchup against Pittsburgh postponed due to the same COVID-19 issues. At this time, that game has not been rescheduled, but both teams are slated to face off Saturday, Feb. 5th at the Petersen Events Center.
