Following his strong performance in Virginia Tech's 77-55 victory over American, Lynn Kidd received Co-ACC Player of the Week honors.

Davis had 23 pts, 5 ast, 3 stl and no turnovers in UNC’s win over No. 7 Oklahoma. Kidd had 31 pts (on 14-of-15 shooting) and 11 reb in Tech’s win over American.
Kidd earned ACC Player of the Week honors after having 31 points on a near perfect 14-15 shooting from the field and 3-3 from the free-throw line plus three rebounds, two blocks, and one assist. This was only the third time that a Virginia Tech basketball player has had at least 31 points and 11 rebounds in a game joining A.D. Vassallo and Zach LeDay as noted by our colleague David Cunningham at Tech Sideline.
If Kidd made the one shot he missed, he would have tied the school record for most shots made in a single game without a miss set by Russell Davis who went 15-15 against Vermont on December 31st, 1974.
Kidd was one of three players to receive Co-ACC Player of the Week honors this past week along with North Carolina guard RJ Davis, who had 23 points and five assists in the Tar Heels' victory over previously undefeated Oklahoma.
All of this comes as Kidd has been arguably the Breakout Player of the Year in the ACC so far this season. Through 12 games, Kidd is averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 24.9 minutes per game while shooting an insane 70.9% from the field and 86.7% from the free-throw line on an average of five free-throw attempts per game.
Kidd's 70.9% field goal shooting percentage is currently on pace to break the Virginia Tech single-season record held by Duke Thorpe who shot 65.7% (165-251) from the field during the 1975-76 season.
