After a standout 2023 season, Virginia Tech CB Dorian Strong announced that he will return to the Hokies for the 2024 season rather than declare for the NFL Draft.

Strong will return after an impressive 2023 season during which he had 21 tackles including 0.5 for loss plus three interceptions and eight pass breakups.

The advanced numbers were even better for Strong as he played 657 snaps allowing only 9 completions on a low 32 targets even allowed his way. His opposing completion percentage of 28.1% was the best of any cornerback who had at least 300 snaps this season per Pro Football Focus.

Because of this, Strong earned Second Team All-American honors from the Action Network and Third Team All-ACC honors though there's no doubt that he was snubbed of the First Team All-ACC honors he should have received. He also should return as a Preseason All-ACC cornerback and potentially receive Preseason All-American consideration.

Landing Strong is a huge boost for Virginia Tech's defense with Mansoor Delane rumored to be returning as well based on what I'm hearing rather than entering the transfer portal. Strong should be able to mark any wide receiver that the Hokies face next season and gives Tech another one of their foundational defensive pieces back along with star pass rusher Antwaun Powell-Ryland.

After making big strides in 2023, the Hokies are set to return most of their biggest stars for a team that will certainly be in serious ACC Championship Game contention in 2024.
