Alex Tchikou is one of the most intriguing big man prospects in the 2021 class with offers from at least one school in each of the 6 biggest conferences and 30 offers overall according to Rivals.

Among those schools in Virginia Tech with Tchikou telling us that he hears a lot from the Hokies.

"Often. Coach Chester Frazier has kept up with me all season," Tchikou said.

Tchikou added that he has a "really good" relationship with Chester Frazier with that being one of the reasons why he "likes VT." Tchikou also added that the "level of play" and his belief that he "can go there and really develop" are two more reasons why he likes the Hokies.

This time of year would usually be a popular time for coaches to bring recruits on visits and be able to spend more time with them than they can do with a visit during the season when coaches are first focused on game prep. As we all know, the coronavirus pandemic has changed most things in society including the ability to host players on visits with the NCAA instituting a dead period at least till the end of May.

However, teams have gotten creative by hosting recruits on virtual visits. That includes Tchikou who told us that that he will be taking multiple virtual visits in the coming week or 2 with Virginia Tech being one of the schools along with Alabama, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, and likely more.

Alex Tchikou doesn't currently have a timeline for making a decision, but he did tell us that two of the key factors in his future will be surrounding a school's ability to develop him and whether he fits their style of play. The fact that Tchikou already has confidence in the Hokies' ability to develop him is undoubtedly a major plus in their favor.

There's no doubt that Tchikou, who plays at Dream City Christian in Glendale, AZ, will definitely be a national recruit, but Virginia Tech has shown under Mike Young that they recruit and land highly-regarded talents with national interest. However, Tchikou's recruitment will give us insight to see if the Hokies can do so when reaching outside of regions within the scope of ACC schools.

Virginia Tech is in the hunt for Alex Tchikou with an important virtual visit coming soon that could give the Hokies some momentum in his recruitment.
