Virginia Tech Football Recruiting Notes 5/25/22

Check out the latest Virginia Tech football recruiting notes as the Hokies are preparing for a hectic June full of official visits.

3* WR Ayden Greene

Three-star WR Ayden Green revealed his June visit schedule with the Hokies having the last visit of that period.

Greene is set to visit the Hokies on the fourth weekend of June with official visits to Cincinnati, Arkansas, and Mississippi State on the three weekends prior along with an unofficial to Clemson who hasn't offered Greene yet.

Greene has emerged as one of Tech's top WR targets in the 2023 class with the Hokies making the top 5 previously for the Powell, TN standout. Having the last official visit has proven to be beneficial for many schools and could be great positioning for the Hokies especially since Greene taking 4 official visits in June seems to be a clear indication that he is ready to make his decision this summer.

Keep an eye on Ayden Greene as the Hokies look to impress one of their top WR targets next month.

3* DE Mason Robinson

Three-star Mason Robinson is one of Virginia Tech's priority defensive end targets as they are looking to add one or two more to their DE class that already includes Richmond area standout Jason Abbey.

Robinson also has set a commitment date for this Friday with the Hokies hoping for some good news.

This news comes as Robinson recently took an official visit to Northwestern while the Wildcats also appear to be trending in his recruitment among some including the 247 Sports' Crystal Ball. The fact that this visit comes so soon after his official visit to Evanston definitely has to be a concern for any school not named Northwestern involved in his recruitment.

Though Tech may not be the favorite given the timing of this, the Hokies shouldn't be ruled out given the fact that Tech has hosted Robinson multiple times since the arrival of Brent Pry including for the Spring Game. Additionally, Robinson has previously discussed with us his strong relationship with Pry extending back to Pry's time at Penn State which could help the Hokies make one last push leading up to his decision.

Will Northwestern be able to turn their official visit momentum into a commitment or will someone else like the Hokies land the talented DE from Maryland? We'll find out Friday afternoon.
