The first full weekend of June is set to be a busy one in Blacksburg with a pair of official visitors during the week before several more this weekend with more camps on the weekend schedule as well.
Let's start in the midweek with the Hokies hosting a pair of big time offensive targets in four-star WR Alex Taylor and three-star TE Willie Rodriguez.
Rodriguez kicks off this week on June 5-7 with the Covington, KY standout emerging as the top TE target for the Hokies currently. In-state Kentucky is also heavily involved and set for an official visit to Lexington next. He also took an official visit to Purdue last week.
Four-star WR Alex Taylor will arrive on June 7th for his official visit after telling us last mont that Virginia Tech is among his current top 4. He took an official visit to Clemson this past weekend and has trips to North Carolina and NC State after his trip to Blacksburg. Beyond those 4, Penn State and Florida are also still in contention in his recruitment.
It's another loaded weekend for the Hokies headlined by four-star LB Gabriel Williams out of Maryland. Tech has been a major player in his recruitment for months while Pittsburgh is also a contender who hosted him on an official visit last weekend.
247 Sports is reporting that four-star LB Chris Cole will be taking an official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend instead of Notre Dame. The Hokies have continued to be a contender in his recruitment along with Penn State who hosted him on an official visit last weekend plus Georgia and Miami who will host him on official visits the next two weekends. He also has taken an unofficial visit recently to Alabama.
Three-star LB Jaden Smith will also be on campus this weekend after he took an official visit to Michigan last weekend. Those 2 along with Kentucky, who will be hosting Smith on an official visit after VT, seem like the top contenders for his commitment currently.
Four-star CB Marcellus Barnes Jr out of Chattanooga is set to take an official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend. Per a source, I've heard that the Hokies and Michigan State are at the forefront of his recruitment with Florida State and Ole Miss also involved. Personally, I think Tech has a strong chance at the moment in his recruitment as they continue to have momentum on the recruiting trail is east and central Tennessee.
Three-star OT Aidan Lynch has quickly emerged as one of Tech's top offensive tackle targets with the New Jersey standout also having official visits to Georgia and Vanderbilt scheduled.
It's a busy weekend on the defensive side of the trenches starting on the edge with three-star DE Amontrae Bradford out of Georgia as first reported by Kentucky Sports Radio. According to On3, he has taken an official visit to Georgia Tech and has 2 more this month to Indiana and Vanderbilt plus a September official to Kentucky.
Tech DT commit Emmett Laws will be on campus along with three-star DT Andrew Hanchuk of Ohio. Hanchuk recently told us that the Hokies are the leaders in his recruitment with a commitment this weekend definitely seeming like a possibility.
There are already some intriguing campers for this weekend headlined by in-state CB Javion Randall who has to reschedule to this weekend. Randall has a VT offer though the fact that he's camping this weekend seems like a sign that he's a little farther down VT's CB board at the moment.
757 WR Isaiah Fuhrmann is another intriguing player to keep an eye on especially given his tremendous size at 6'4'' along with tremendous production having over 1,200 receiving yards and 20 total touchdowns this past season.
Note that this list will be updated as recruits either publicly state their plans to visit whether on social media or public articles, tell us directly that they are planning to visit, or a source confirms a visitor with us. An asterisk is next to the names of recruits who currently do not hold a VT offer.
