After seeing both of their games this week postponed due to COVID issues elsewhere, #18 Virginia Tech announced that their Tuesday night trip to North Carolina has been postponed due to a positive COVID test within their own program.

This is the first postponement this season for Virginia Tech that has been tied to a COVID issue within the Hokies' program, an impressive streak that deserves praise but also was a gift of good fortune. Tech will have some time to try to contain this before next Saturday's trip to #17 Florida State in what could be a two-week layoff for the Hokies from competition.
At this point, it is unclear whether this game will be rescheduled as though Tech has had 4 ACC games prior to this postponed, only one of those games has been rescheduled to date. Any rescheduling at this point would likely require 3 games in one week for the Hokies.
Given that Tech is comfortably in the NCAA Tournament field and has more than the number of games required to be eligible, the ACC may simply not force the issue of rescheduling this or most other Tech games at this point in the season.
We will have more as this story develops.
