Despite its defense’s best efforts, Virginia Tech suffered a 24-11 loss in its season opener at the hands of the now 10th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. The Hokies generated stop after stop against a Gamecock offense led by Heisman hopeful LaNorris Sellers, yet the offense was unable to capitalize and ever give Virginia Tech the lead.
However, the Hokies offense was missing some key rotational pieces on the offensive line that could give Kyron Drones and this offense a large boost.
