Virginia Tech not only received a commitment from QB Tahj Bullock yesterday, but they also extended a pair of notable 2021 offers out including one to offensive tackle Christopher Adams.
He had this to say about his reaction to receiving a Virginia Tech offer.
"I was really excited but then humbled and then thought 'just work even harder Chris,'" Adams said.
The Hokies are the second Power 5 school to offer the 6'5'' Christopher Adams joining fellow ACC team Syracuse on his list which also includes Old Dominion, JMU, UMASS, Buffalo, and others. Adams added that Rutgers and FIU are among the programs also showing interest in him currently.
He received the offer from offensive line coach Vance Vice after the Hokies had a virtual team meeting yesterday. The offer has made a big impact on his recruitment and VT's standing in it as he told us.
"It makes me look like a trustworthy recruit and they are high up on my list," Adams said.
He had this to say about why the Hokies are "high up" on his list.
"Because they convinced me this is a brotherhood for life and we stand together as one," Adams said.
Adams has taken a few virutal visits to date to places like ODU and JMU, but he did tell us that Vance Vice is working to set up a virtual visit to Virginia Tech with him. That could prove quite valuable in the Hokies' pursuit of him especially given their strong positioning that has a foundation laid by the interest VT has had in him for weeks.
Adams is an intriguing prospect who has very good size at 6'5'' and a good frame to grow into as a collegiate offensive lineman while also showing plenty of potential with a great mentality. He wouldn't be an immediate impact guy as he has lots of work to develop including his footwork that is a little heavy on tape, but he shows good athleticism and explosiveness that make him a solid Power 5 offensive line prospect.
Virginia Tech has jumped in fully to Christopher Adams' recruitment with the Hokies right at the forefront of the contenders for him.
